Princeton Township
Scott Johnson, 24, of Lawrence Township was charged with obstructing the administration of law during an investigation prompted by a theft in Montgomery, Friday. Police said Montgomery police were investigating a theft that occurred at a Wall Street business and a former employee, Mr. Johnson, was located in the lobby of the TD bank at 833 State Road in Princeton Township. When officers tried to discuss the matter with Mr. Johnson he attempted to walk away, prompting his arrest, police said. The items that Mr. Johnson took from the Montgomery business were recovered, police said.
Yashida Morris, 25, of Red Oak Row, Princeton, was charged with simple assault following a fight involving 10 to 12 people at Redding Circle shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, police said. Police said when they arrived the crowd was in the process of shoving, shouting and arguing among themselves and an officer observed Ms. Morris assault another female. The victim injured her right hand as a result of being pushed to the ground during the assault, police said. Princeton Borough and Montgomery police assisted with crowd control, according to the report.
Douglas A. Garcia, 22, of John Street was charged with criminal trespass about 7 a.m. Thursday after police said they received a call from a Birch Avenue resident that a man was sleeping in the resident’s minivan. The resident told police that when she went to her car to go to work she found a man in the rear seat. Police said Mr. Garcia was apparently intoxicated the night before and entered the unlocked van to sleep.
Graciela Leal, 25, of Trenton was arrested on a $190 warrant out of Princeton Township Municipal Court following a motor vehicle stop on South Harrison Street about 1:50 p.m. Friday. She was also charged with driving with a suspended license and released after posting bail.
West Windsor
Darshan P. Patel, 22, of North Brunswick, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane after he was stopped by police early Saturday morning on northbound Route 1 at Carnegie Center Boulevard. Mr. Patel was given several sobriety tests after his Honda Accord was observed leaving its lane, police said.
Melinda K. Ullring, 35, of Lawrence, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane and improper maintenance of lamps after she was stopped by police early Saturday morning on southbound Route 1 at Quakerbridge Road. Police followed her car after noticing that the license plate light wasn’t working, according to the report. Police said they also noticed that the car wasn’t staying in its lane. After Ms. Ullring was pulled over, police asked her to complete field sobriety tests.
Two salt spreaders and a 7½-foot plow were reported stolen from a storage shed at A&D Automotive, located on Washington Road. The stolen equipment is valued at $8,400. The case is under investigation.
A house on Scott Avenue was entered sometime midday on Friday, police said. The house was searched for valuables but it was not determined if anything had been stolen at the time of the initial report. The door, which was damaged in the incident, is valued at $300.
Thirty-four bottles of perfume were reported stolen over the weekend from the Victoria’s Secret store in MarketFair. The total loss was placed at $1,886. The incident is under investigation.
Plainsboro
A Quail Ridge Drive resident reported Sunday that someone withdrew $774.94 from a checking account at Bank of America.
Christina M. Colaneri, 26, of Quail Ridge Drive was charged with animal cruelty Wednesday after police said they received a complaint about a neglected dog. Police said a pit bull was left outside in a wire cage without food, water or protection from the weather. The dog was seized by the township’s animal control officer, police said.
