The residents of Morganville don’t realize how lucky they are to have such a caring and dedicated crew that is on the Morganville First Aid Squad in their midst. They have come to my home in the middle of the night, on a weekend and on a weekday afternoon.
Though they did not always have a full crew, they were cheerful, gentle and caring and transported my husband to the hospital of my choice. Thank you, thank you.
The reason they did not always have a full crew is that they need new members desperately. There are signs all over our community asking you to give a little of your time.
Though it’s true we are all busy and think we don’t have that extra time to give, that is what makes our community the type that people want to move to.
The rewards in self-gratification make it worthwhile. I say that from personal experience as my husband is a life member (more than seven years on the squad) of the squad and I am a former member of the Marlboro Board of Education.
The squad also gives of themselves by having a large group of cadets (teenagers who are trained and ride with them). Maybe one of you would like to join with your son or daughter. It is a great bonding experience. My husband did that with our daughter and a friend’s son.
I can’t forget the police as a policeman usually shows up first. Again, I can’t stress how caring the policeman and the firstaiders who came to our home were. Please consider becoming one of them. Also donate, donate, donate!
