The township reached a new pay agreement with the union representing deputy fire marshals and dispatchers.
The contract, with the Firemen’s Mutual Benevolent Association Local 90, is retroactive to Jan. 1 and runs through Dec. 31, 2011.
Employees will receive a 2 percent increase in the minimum and maximum salary range from the start of the contract retroactive to July 1. There will be about a 3.8 percent increase in the minimum and maximum salary range every January after that, for the life of the contract.
Dispatchers will begin the contract with a salary range of $32,780 to $59,457, and finish the contract with a range of $37,466 to $67,957 in 2011. Deputy fire marshals will start the contract with a pay range of $38,000 to $68,927, and finish the contract with a range of $43,432 to $78,780 in 2011.
The ordinance to adopt the pay plan was introduced at Tuesday’s council meeting. A public hearing will need to be held before the ordinance can be adopted on Nov. 25.
