While the outcome of the presidential race garnered a lot of excitement on Nov. 4, there was next to none for the Millstone, Roosevelt and Upper Freehold elections because all the seats went to uncontested candidates.
In Millstone, Republicans Mike Kuczinski received 3,420 votes and Fiore Masci received 3,328 votes for election to three-year terms on the Township Committee. Kuczinski won the seat he was appointed to last January when Committeeman Ray Dilfanian resigned, and Masci will hold office for the first time in the seat vacated by Republican Steven Sico, who chose not to run for re-election this year.
Kuczinski said that people know they have a committed Township Committee that’s doing right by the residents and that he would like to see state of the township addresses given on a regular basis.
“Communication is key,” he said.
Masci said his priorities are getting involved with the governing body and finding out what liaison positions for other township endeavors are available.
“I will work as hard as I can and learn as fast as I can,” he said. “I will do what I feel is best for the community.”
Masci said that quality-of-life issues are very important to residents and that there is a great core group of people serving them.
In Upper Freehold, Republican Dr. Robert Frascella won the seat currently held by David Reed, who opted not to run for a second term. Frascella received 2,557 votes in the election. There were 34 writein votes, including eight for former Mayor John Mele and two for Bryan Scheff, whom Frascella defeated in the June primary.
Frascella said his No. 1 priority is resolving issues with Sharon Station Road.
“We’ve wasted too much time and money,” he said. “It’s stalled for some reason and I intend to get to the bottom of it.”
In Roosevelt, Democratic Councilman Jeff Ellentuck earned 326 votes and Democratic Councilman Daniel Hoffman earned 320 votes to continue serving on the Borough Council for another three years.
