DILLON BASKETBALL
Registration is underway for the 39th season of the Dillon Recreational Basketball League. League play is for boys and girls in grades 4-9. Games are played on Saturday mornings at Dillon Gym with each team practicing one night per week at John Witherspoon Middle School.
The Dillon League is open to Princeton residents and non-residents who attend school in Princeton. Registration forms are available at the Princeton Recreation Department office or forms can be downloaded from the department website at www.princetonrecreation.com. Registration deadline is Nov. 14.

PSS BASKETBALL
Princeton Special Sports is now registering players for its winter basketball season. PSS provides youth sports programs to special needs children ages 4 through high school. PSS Basketball plays on Sundays from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Littlebrook and Riverside schools in Princeton from Jan. 11 through March 22. Season fee is $50. PSS also offers full and partial scholarships. Registration deadline is Nov. 30.

PAWS WRESTLING
The Princeton Recreation Department is now accepting registration for the PAWS and Tiger Cubs Youth Wrestling programs. Princeton Amateur Wrestling Society (PAWS) is a combination of instruction and match competition that takes place at Jadwin Gymnasium at Princeton University. Practice takes place two nights per week as well on some Saturdays early in the season. PAWS is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8. The program is open to interested participants of all skill levels and beginners are welcome.
The Tiger Cubs program is an introductory wrestling program for kids in grades K – 2. The program will meet on Saturday mornings beginning Nov. 15 at Jadwin Gym. The coaching staff will emphasize the importance of stretching, physical fitness and following instructions. One wrestling concept will be introduced each week. Competition will be de-emphasized in the Tiger Cubs program.

GIRLS LACROSSE
PG Lax (Princeton Girls Lacrosse) is opening its online registration on Nov. 15 for the 2009 spring lacrosse season.
PG Lax will have three team levels — 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade, and the season will run from early March to early June. Practice will take place two afternoons a week with games usually held on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. All girls from beginners to advanced are welcomed.
PG Lax offers an eight week clinic for girls in kindergarten through second grade to be held once a week in April and May. The program cost is $80.
PG Lax registration fee is $295, which includes all league and club fees and a uniform. Registration forms can be down loaded from the PG Lax web site (pglax.com), and hard copies are available at the Princeton Recreation Department. Registration will close on Jan. 31, 2009.

LACROSSE TRYOUTS
Team Turnpike tryouts for lacrosse players in grades 9-11 will be held Sunday, Nov. 23 and Monday, Nov. 24 from 7-9 p.m. For players in grades 5-8 tryouts will be held Sunday, Nov. 23 from 4-6 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 24 from 7-9 p.m. The tryouts will be held on the turf field at East Brunswick High School.

LIGHTNING LACROSSE
Registration is now open for the spring 2009 season of Lightning Lacrosse. The Lightning Lacrosse Club is one of the area’s largest and oldest youth lacrosse organizations and is open to boys and girls from Cranbury, Plainsboro and West Windsor in grades K-8.
There is also a Little Laxers program for boys and girls grades K-2, which returns along with travel teams for kids in grades 3-8. The club’s programs focus on learning the game, sportsmanship and teamwork.

RIDER SOFTBALL
Rider University will host a pair of one-day softball clinics in February. On Feb. 1, there will be a hitting clinic from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. On Feb. 22, there will be a total offense clinic from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
The clinics will be held indoors at Rider’s Student Recreation Center. Team pricing and discounts are available.

ELITE THROWING
The Elite Throwing and Development training is geared to help get throwers arms ready for the spring season. The training program can help generate more velocity and greater distance on throws. No matter the sport, no matter the age group, the program is designed to help.

MONTGOMERY SOCCER
Registration is now open for the MTSC Youth Development Program for the fall 2008 season. This soccer program is available to youth 5-9 years of age, regardless of skill level or experience.
Professional trainers and trained volunteers guide players through a curriculum that emphasizes development over winning, player time on the ball and small-sided games as a teaching approach. Optional travel is offered to older players.
