MADD calls attention to driving drunk during holidays

As we approach the upcoming holiday season, Mothers Against Drunk Driving New Jersey along with Mothers Against Drunk Driving locations nationwide is once again launching our holiday crackdown campaign. This campaign runs from the day before Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day.

As we are all aware, the holiday season brings with it opportunities of celebration and ways in which to build new memories with loved ones and friends. Tragically it also brings with it increased incidents of drunk driving crashes.

We are requesting all of the citizens of the Garden State to join forces with us in our Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving by participating in our Tie One On For Safety (TOOF) campaign. We have red ribbons available at no cost to the public that we ask be tied onto car antennas or side view mirrors to let others know that they support MADD in its mission to eliminate drunk driving.

Statistics show that in 2007 we lost 199 of our precious New Jersey neighbors to drunk driving crashes. Drunk driving crashes are 100 percent preventable and sadly all of these lives did not have to be lost. The MADD mission is to stop drunk driving, serve the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

Anyone who would like to join the TOOF campaign is invited to call Mothers Against Drunk Driving New Jersey at 609-409-1220 and we will gladly send them red ribbons to display.

Together we do make a difference!
