AROUND CRANBURY: Cranbury population grows by one

By Lorraine Sedor, Columnist
Bob and Mary Kay Miller of Evans Drive welcomed their first granddaughter, Sophia Louisa Smith, born Thursday, Nov. 6, at the University Medical Center at Princeton, to Stacey and Jesse Smith.
Stacey herself was born in the same hospital, just two floors below, and grew up in Cranbury. Jesse’s ties to Cranbury go back two generations. His mother, Bobbie Jean Huff, and grandparents, Jack and Jane Huff, resided on Main Street. Jane is still an active resident. Stacey, Jesse, and Sophia currently live in Yardley, Pa.

The third annual Cranbury Area Mother’s Club Toys for Tots party is coming up. Hosted by Kevin McConnell at his 7 Stockton Drive home, from 6 to 10 p.m. the evening before Thanksgiving, everyone is town is invited to attend this open house. All that is asked is a donation of a new, unwrapped toy to brighten the holiday of a needy child. There will be plenty of great food and drink, activities for the kids, and a visit from a Marine or two in full dress. Last year a Gunnery Sergeant, just a couple of weeks away from being deployed to Iraq, made time to visit.
