The Arcadian Chorale presents “Canticles of Peace,” a program celebrating the serenity of the holiday season, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, at the United Methodist Church, 247 Broad St. in Red Bank. Several works from the Romantic Period stressing the theme of peace will be featured, most notably the “Spiritual Song, Op. 30” by Johannes Brahms, and “Mass in C” with orchestra by Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger. Writers Series – Fall 2008 will welcome Jeff Ford and Laura McCullough on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. The reading will be held at the Warner Student Life Center, Navesink Room I, Lincroft main campus, 765 Newman Springs Road. Ford is the author of stories and novels that have won numerous awards. McCullough has two collections of poetry forthcoming as well as a first novel. The Red Bank Area Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will present “The Gift of Harmony,” a performance of barbershop music with a holiday theme, at 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at Ocean Township High School, West Park Avenue, Oakhurst.
