In the words of Mr. O’Hern, I am also elated that we had a contested election in Little Silver this year. Maybe our council will take some suggestions from Dan Levine and find a way to reduce our town’s operating costs.
Mr. Declan O’Scanlon, a former councilperson, had some great ideas as to how to reduce costs in our town. His big idea was to share police services with neighboring towns. That plan definitely would have helped reduce costs, and I don’t believe it would have reduced the safety of our residents, as some were led to believe.
But, our council and mayor didn’t support the idea. I do have one request: can we get the council meeting minutes posted to the town Web site in a more timely manner, please?
Congratulations to our newly elected council folks, and I sincerely hope they find some ways to reduce our town’s costs.
