Literary reading: Winners of The Unlimited Potential Theater Company of VSA arts of New Jersey will read their work at the Joyce Indik Readers’ Theater at the South Brunswick Public Library at 2 p.m. The winners include Frances Cohen of Monroe Township a piece titled “Pearl Harbor.”

Music for kids: A music program with Pat McKinley for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. 11:45 a.m. Registration is not required. The program will be held in the Monroe Township Senior Center at the Municipal Building. Due to parking constraints at the Municipal Center, a shuttle bus will be provided on Tuesday mornings in October and November. The shuttle will leave promptly at 11:30 a.m. from the Library.

Jewish opera stars: Musicologists Murray and Sydel Singer will speak on “Jewish Opera Stars of the 20th Century” at the Jewish Congregation of Concordia at 7:30 p.m. The center is located at Perrineville and Prospect Plains roads in Monroe.
