MONROE TOWNSHIP — Nunzio E. Pisani, 89, died Monday at the Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton.
Born in New York City, Mr. Pisani was raised in Sayville, Long Island, N.Y., and lived there until moving to Hightstown in 1968. He was a resident of the Rossmoor community in Monroe Township since 1989.
He was employed as a chemist for N.L. Industries for 43 years. He was instrumental in the formulation of the paints used on the Verrazano Bridge.
He retired in 1989.
As a resident of Rossmoor, Mr. Pisani was an active member of the Italian American Club and Emerald Society. He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially shuffleboard.
Predeceased by parents Nunzio and Teresa Pisani and wife Marjorie Laughlin Pisani, brothers Pat, John and Ernest, and sisters Mary, Adele and Annette, he is survived by daughters Kathleen Hughes of Long Island, N.Y. and Marjorie Righter of New Jersey; brother Joseph of Spring Lake, Fla.; sister Rita Shannon of East Hampton, N.Y.; grandchildren Erin Baker, James Hughes, Megan Righter and Matthew Righter; and great-grandchildren Abigale and Emerson Baker.
A funeral mass was held at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Sayville, Long Island, N.Y. Burial was in the church cemetery.
