Ernest (Ernie) J. Adler, 72, of Cream Ridge, died Nov. 23 at Robert Wood Johnson of Hamilton.
Born and raised in Hopewell, he was a 30-year veteran of the US Navy and Naval Reserve. He then worked with the family business, Marshall’s Awnings, until his retirement, when he began to split his time between New Jersey and his home in Florida.
He was a member of the Florence American Legion Post 194, and past commander of the Trenton Falls Power Squadron.
Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Elizabeth Adler of Hopewell, and a daughter Susan A. Wriggins, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol (Marshall) Adler; a daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Donald Morgan; a son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Cheryl Adler; a son-in-law David Wriggins; grand-children Kimberly, Ashley, Kaitlyn and Ryan, all of Florence; a sister and brother-in-law, Bettie and John Hart of Princeton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Lois Adler of Levittown, Pa., and Barry and Joan Adler of Hopewell; in-laws, George and Eleanore Marshall of Florence; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Patricia Marshall of Manahawkin; nieces and nephews, Patrick, John, Sally, Bill, Gayle, and Billy; and friends.
Calling hours will be Nov. 26, from 4-7 p.m. at Kingston and Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, with an American Legion Honor Guard and Service. A memorial service will be held Dec. 2 at 11 a.m., at the Brig. Gen. William H. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township.
