Hilbert Espina-Martinez, 22, of Jonathan Dayton Court, was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing the administration of law and resisting arrest, following a report of a disorderly group of individuals possibly damaging a motor vehicle about 10 p.m. Sunday. On arrival, police said they found that the vehicle had not been damaged but there was a verbal dispute among four persons.
While police spoke to the group, Mr. Espina-Martinez continued to argue, used loud profane language and starting punching walls and wooden posts, police said. Police efforts to calm him down were unsuccessful, according to the report. Following his arrest, Mr. Espina-Martinez was transported to headquarters where he purposely struck his forehead against a metal cuffing bar resulting in a laceration to his forehead, police said. He was transported to University Medical Center at Princeton for treatment and was later released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.
West Windsor
Tyrrell M. Rawls, 19, of Trenton was charged with shoplifting early Friday morning at the Target store in Nassau Park shopping center. He is accused of attempting to steal a $399 iPod by concealing it on his person while working in the stockroom.
A vehicle was reported damaged Saturday evening while it was parked in the MarketFair shopping center parking lot near the UA movie theater. Both doors to the car, a 2004 Dodge Neon, were deeply scratched. Repair costs were estimated at $400.
An attempt was made to break into a residence on Salem Court between Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. A police investigation found that a prying tool had been used to try to open the front door. Nothing was reported missing.
Jarron Nelson, 24, of Lawrence, was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana under 50 grams after a motor vehicle stop early Saturday morning. He was stopped for having improperly tinted windows and inoperative license plate light, police said. A search of his 2002 Land Rover revealed marijuana, police said. He also faces charges of improper window tint, improper maintenance of lamps, reckless driving and possession of a controlled and dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
A West Windsor resident reported her handbag stolen Sunday afternoon while shopping at either Panera Bread at Nassau Park shopping center or Barnes & Noble at MarketFair. The bag contained two credit cards, which were used at several stores, amounting to $2,190 in fraudulent charges, police said. The victim was unaware of the theft until she arrived home and received a call from the credit card company alerting her to irregular use of the card.
Ryan Seaberg, 26, of Fairless Hills, Pa., was charged with possession of marijuana after an incident early Sunday morning on Sapphire Drive. Police investigated a call about a suspicious individual who knocked on a front door of a residence after parking his 1991 Mercury Cougar in the driveway. An investigation revealed marijuana in the vehicle, police said. Mr. Seaberg had been looking for a friend at the wrong address.
Javier Perez, 19, of Hamilton was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, and making an unsafe lane change after his car was stopped by police early Sunday morning. Mr. Perez was stopped in his 2006 Nissan for an unsafe lane change, and a subsequent investigation found marijuana on his person, police said.

A resident of Tamarron Drive reported Nov. 17 that his bank card was used on Oct. 2 to withdraw $122 in Branford, Conn.
A Pheasant Hollow Drive resident reported an estimated $500 in damage to a Dodge Avenger the evening of Nov. 16. Police said a sharp object was used to damage the hood.
A window screen in an unoccupied unit in Quail Ridge Apartments was damaged in an attempt to enter the apartment, police reported Nov. 17.
Fire damaged a loading dock elevator hydraulic pump at Princeton Forrestal Village about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 19, police reported. About 20 to 25 gallons of hydraulic oil was spilled, police said. There was no significant damage, police said.
A West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North student reported that a Samsung cell phone and $13 in cash were stolen from a locker between 9:48 and 10:45 a.m. Nov. 18. The total loss was placed at $200.
Christopher Frerebau, 26, of New York City was charged with driving while intoxicated after his 2000 Toyota Echo was stopped about 10:55 p.m. Nov. 18 for making an improper U-turn on Scudders Mill Road at Schalks Crossing Road, police reported. He was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving and making an improper turn.
A Pheasant Hollow Drive resident reported that someone used a sharp instrument to damage the side of her Toyota Sienna minivan while it was parked on Pheasant Hollow Drive between Nov. 13 and 17. Damage was estimated at $400.
Signs and utility boxes in the Ravens Crest apartment complex were spray painted between 5 p.m. Nov. 18 and 11:30 a.m. Nov. 19, police reported.
Bristol-Myers Squibb, 777 Scudders Mill Road, reported the theft of two Fujitsu laptop computers that were packaged and ready for shipping from an employee’s desk while the employee was out at lunch between noon and 1 p.m. Nov. 12. The loss was placed at $2,000.
Three residents of Pheasant Hollow Drive were charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose the evening of Nov. 14 after police said they were dispatched to the street after receiving a report of a fight in progress. Police said James E. White Jr., 18, of Pheasant Hollow Drive was in possession of a weapon while making threats against other residents. He was charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and later released on $2,500 bail.
Further investigation provided the grounds for a search warrant, police said, and arrest warrants were executed by the township’s special response team and patrol officers. Charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose were Javier M. Poveda, 25 and Tara J. Veliky, 23. Mr. Poveda was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being found with a glass marijuana pipe, police said. Bail was set at $20,000 for Mr. Poveda and $2,500 for Ms. Veliky and both were remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in default of bail.
Kevin P. Cowan, 29, of Tamarron Drive was charged with driving while intoxicated after police said they received a call from a passing motorist reporting that a man was slumped over inside a car parked at St. Joseph’s Seminary about 9 p.m. Saturday. He was also charged with refusal to take a breath test, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
