Edward H. Kensler

FLORENCE — Edward H. Kensler, Sr., 65, of Roebling, died Nov. 19 at Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly. Born in Trenton and raised in Fieldsboro, he lived in Bordentown before moving to Roebling 40 years ago.
    Mr. Kensler retired in June of this year as the head custodian of Smith Elementary School in Burlignton. Prior to this he was a supervisor at Yates Industries for over 20 years and also worked at Griffin Pipe Co. for 10 years.
    He was an avid Eagles fan, a member of the Burlington Moose Lodge 965, enjoyed art, drawing and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
    He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elvira Crucili Kensler; a daughter, Rose Marie (and Andy) Wilcox of Florence and two sons, Edward (and Dianne) Kensler Jr. of Roebling and Don (and Donna) Kensler of Eastampton. Also, his twin brother, Gordon (and Barbara) Kensler of Merritt Island, Fla., and a sister, Catherine (and Tom) Prokop of Fieldsboro; his grandchildren, Rachel, Julia, Katie, Zachary and Isabella, and two nephews, Thomas Prokop and David Kensler. He was also predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Githens Kensler, a sister, Rose Marie Kensler and a brother, Joseph Kensler.
    The funeral was held Tuesday at the Dennison Funeral Home, Florence. Interment was in the Bordentown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
