• Adopt-A-Family, sponsored by the South River Elementary/Primary School PTA, to make the holiday season more enjoyable for disadvantaged children in South River. • Holiday Grave Blanket Sale, sponsored by St. Mary’s Altar Rosary Society, South River. Cost is $23 for a 36-inch blanket decorated with pine cones, poinsettias, bow. • Coat Drive, sponsored by Dr. Debra DeMarco of Monroe Chiropractic Care, Jamesburg. Clean, new or gently used coats will go to Jersey Cares, a nonprofit group that aids needy families in New Jersey. • Holiday Bazaar, sponsored by St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the church, 505 Main St., Spotswood. Photos with Santa, food, children’s crafts, crafters and vendors offering new merchandise, raffles, more. Free admission. Profits benefit the outreach ministries of St. Peter’s Church. • Granny’s Cellar Holiday Craft Show, sponsored by the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 29, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 30, at Immaculate Conception School, Manalapan Road, Spotswood. Dec. 1

• Book Fair, sponsored by the Milltown PTA, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Barnes and Noble, Route 1 south, North Brunswick. A percentage of purchases made with the group’s event flier will go to the PTA. Cast members from the school musical “Into the Woods” will perform. Dr. Linda Madison, principal of Parkview School, Milltown, will read a book. PTA members staff the wrapping table. • Christmas Food and Toy Drive, to assist needy local families, sponsored by the Spotswood High School Octagon Community Service Club. Drop off donations, care of club adviser Frank Yusko, at the main entrance to the high school, Summerhill Road.

• Used-Clothing Collection, sponsored by the PTA of Memorial Elementary School, East Brunswick, during school hours, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at the school, 80 David St., South River. Seeking clean, wearable clothing (for men, women, children); shoes, belts, purses; linens (towels, sheets, blankets, comforters, pillows); stuffed animals; hard toys (dolls, doll houses, action figures, play sets, small ride-ons). Games, puzzles not accepted. Clothing should be placed in well-tied plastic bags; hard toys placed in boxes. PTA will receive money for the total weight collected. • Unwanted Gold-Buying Event, sponsored by the East Brunswick Special Education PTA (SEPTA), 7:30 p.m., at East Brunswick Baseball League’s Manager’s Hall, Dunhams Corner Road, across from Crystal Springs. National Estate Jewelry Buyers of East Brunswick will pay for unwanted jewelry including gold, diamonds, bronze, sterling silver, watches, antiques, collectibles, coins, family treasures, etc.; 10 percent of all proceeds go to SEPTA. • Pajama and Book Drive, sponsored by the East Brunswick Baseball League, in cooperation with Pajamaprogram.org, 7-9 p.m. Dec. 4, 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 6, at Managers Hall, Dunhams Corner Road, East Brunswick. Donations of a new pair of pajamas and/or a new book sought. The Pajama Program delivers warm sleepwear and nurturing books to children in need.
