Goal is to build two playgrounds at “Gazebo Park” and at the Railroad Station site
The Hopewell Borough Playground Project (HBPP) needs support to make the playgrounds a reality, according to Michelle Brennan, general coordinator.
The project’s goal is to build two playgrounds at “Gazebo Park” and at the Railroad Station site.
Hundreds of volunteers are needed to construct the playgrounds over a five-day period, June 17-21. They will work side-by-side with guidance from the playground designers, Leathers & Associates, and volunteer construction captains.
See www.hopewellplayground.com for the playground schematics, which incorporate ideas and suggestions from children at area elementary schools and Timberlane Middle School.
The total cost of the two playgrounds is estimated at $109,000. “However, the more donated materials we receive, the more this total amount will go down,” said Ms. Brennan.
The project has several upcoming fundraisers and events:
During the Holiday Walk Dec. 5, 7-9:30 p.m., Potter’s Alley will sell ceramic tiles to paint with a handprint or personal design. The tile will be fired and installed permanently at the new playground in “Gazebo Park.” The cost per tile is $30. Call 818-0105 or visit www.pottersalley.com for more information.
After the Hopewell Borough Tree Lighting ceremony Dec. 13, the committee will have an information booth at the Hopewell Firehouse as well as cider and caroling at “Gazebo Park.”
Through a partnership with the MOMS Club of Titusville/Hopewell, a registered 501(c)(3) organization, all donations to the playground project are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Write checks payable to “MOMs Club of Hopewell/Titusville” and mail to Hopewell Borough Playground Project, P.O. Box 234, Hopewell, 08525.
