Top-flight management

Muriel Leonard, Oak Woods
As a member of the board of South Brunswick Community Development and president of Oak Woods Inc. board of trustees, I want to thank the management and staff of both Charleston Place and Oak Woods.
They have received superior ratings for the past seven years from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development for the excellent operation and maintenance of these residences.
Charleston Place consists of 84 units of low-income housing for senior and disabled persons and was built 28 years ago.
Oak Woods has 73 apartments for low-income seniors and was built seven years ago.
Properties like these cannot happen without the dedicated volunteers who serve conscientiously every day so I also thank the members of the boards for their dedication and generous gift of their talents.
The township also is dedicated to helping to make this housing available and we should all be grateful to our local government.
The mission statement for our organization is “Providing safe, comfortable housing for income-eligible seniors and disabled persons in a caring community environment.”
