Joseph Stadmueller Sr.

   HILLSBOROUGH — Joseph E. Stadmueller Sr. died Nov. 12 at Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough. He was 94.
   Born in Miltenburg, Germany, he came to the U.S. in 1928. Mr. Stadmueller served in the U.S. Army during World War II and became a U.S. citizen in 1942.
   Mr. Stadmueller operated Joe’s Garage on Zion Road from 1946 to 2000.
   He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish in Hillsborough for 60 years.
   He was a life/charter member of the Hillsborough Rescue Squad, serving as chief daytime driver for many years.
   Surviving are his wife, Amelia Betty Stadmueller; one brother, Al of Hillsborough; one daughter, Elizabeth Evarts; five sons, Joseph Jr., George, Charles, Peter and Walter; and 14 grandchildren.
   A Memorial Mass was held Nov. 22 at Mary, Mother of God Church, followed by a reception in Schelberg Hall.
