Maria M. Maldonado, 21, of Chestnut Street in Trenton, was charged with shoplifting for taking clothing and four DVDs, valued at a combined $143.96, from Sears at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 2:19 p.m. Nov. 18, police said. She hid the clothing on top of her infant son’s stroller and concealed the DVDs inside his diaper bag, police said. She was released on a summons.
Catalin Mihai Popeskou, 24, of Staten Island, N.Y., was charged with criminal trespass, possession of drugs and possession of burglary tools after he was found in the men’s lockerroom at Gold’s Gym on Quakerbridge Road at 2:46 p.m. Nov. 18, police said.
He approached the front desk and asked to fill out a membership application, police said. When the attendant left the front desk, he was gone. She asked employees to check the men’s lockerroom, where they found him. He had metal shims, which can be used to open a lock, and three prescription pills in his possession, according to the report.
A 1998 Honda Civic belonging to a Shirley Lane resident was reported stolen from its owner’s residence between 6:15 p.m. Nov. 14 and 9:30 a.m. Nov. 17, police said. The car was valued at $2,000.
Rashaad Khalil, 32, of Brunswick Avenue in Trenton, was charged with shoplifting for taking 18 pairs of glasses frames from the Sears Optical Shop at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 12:45 p.m. Nov. 16, police said. The frames were valued at $2,319.79. He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center on $20,000 bail. He also had outstanding warrants from other municipalities, police said.
A Van Buren Place resident told police someone stole her Cobra radar detector, a GPS navigation system, an iPod and headphones valued at a combined $1,080 from her 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee while it was parked in front of her house between 3:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 16. She told police she did not remember whether she had locked the car.
Oliver D. Bravo, 18, of Newtown, Pa., was charged with underage driving under the influence, reckless driving and careless driving after his 2003 Mazda struck a parked car on Chamberlain Court at 12:49 a.m. Nov. 15, police said.
Andrew T. Cronin, 22, of Ramsey, was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence in a school zone, disregarding a red light, failure to maintain his lane, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident after his 2006 Lexus struck a utility pole on Franklin Corner Road at 2:16 a.m. Nov. 15, police said. He was found hiding in the bushes behind a nearby house, according to the report.
A Mulberry Street resident reported the theft of his GPS navigation system, valued at $429, from his 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee while it was parked in front of his house between 10 p.m. Nov. 14 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 15, police said. The thief smashed the driver’s side window with a brick to gain entry.
Hoogim Song, 40, of Little Falls was charged with shoplifting for taking four bottles of skin lotion, valued at a combined $71.96, from the ShopRite grocery store at the Mercer Mall at 2:19 p.m. Nov. 2, police said. She was released on a summons.
Daniel T. Tynan, 23, of Sewell, was charged with numerous offenses, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia for having a hypodermic needle, and possession of one gram of heroin after police found him asleep in his car, with the engine running, in the parking lot of a Route 1 business at 1:21 a.m. Nov. 2, police said. He was issued summonses and released.
