E.B. Library launches new Facebook page

The East Brunswick Public Library has joined the social-network movement by implementing a Facebook page. The page is titled “East Brunswick Public Library” and may be accessed by executing a Facebook search and clicking on the “Become a fan” link.

Having a Facebook presence enables the library to interface with the community on a new level. Fans can instantly receive notification whenever new information is published or added to the page and can get the latest news, announcements, and changes or additions to programs and events by checking their e-mail, visiting the library’s page or viewing their own Facebook homepage news feed.

Individuals who are already Facebook members should type in “East Brunswick Public Library” and click on “Become a fan.” Those who have not yet joined may go to www.facebook.com and register for their free page. During the registration process, they will be asked to join a network. Individuals may join the East Brunswick Public Library network along with any other network they desire; it is also recommended that they join the Central Jersey, NJ, regional network. A Facebook profile can be as open or as restricted as one likes.

For more information, log on to the library’s Web site at www.ebpl.org or call 732-390-6767.
