Holiday carriage rides to begin in Jamesburg

The annual narrated Holiday Carriage- Ride Tours of Historic Jamesburg are slated for Dec. 4 and 11, with rides starting every 20 minutes from 6-8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg, Gatzmer Avenue, corner of Church Street.

The rides are sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg, the Jamesburg Historical Society, the Jamesburg Revitalization Coalition and many local businesses.

After reservations are made, tickets and ride rules may be picked up at the Soden Agency, 60 W. Railroad Ave., Jamesburg. Tickets, which must be purchased and picked up in advance, cost $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12. Due to insurance and safety laws, children under age 6 may not ride in the carriage. Proceeds and sponsorship money that exceeds expenses will benefit the Deacon’s Pantry food bank, sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church.

Jamesburg businesses will provide free refreshments, including hot chocolate, smoked-tomato bisque, hot apple cider, roasted chestnuts, cookies, chocolates and cinnamon-roasted almonds, in the Jamesburg Presbyterian Church entry and social hall during the event. The Jamesburg Historical Association will have a table of collectibles and gift items for sale; sponsors include Sweet William and Thyme Florist and Gifts, Fiddleheads Restaurant, PNC Bank, Kaye Septak’s Paint and Redecorating Center, Platt’s Performance Plus, the Soden Agency and TD Bank, all Jamesburg.
