EAST BRUNSWICK — Police arrested numerous subjects recently in a crackdown on alleged prostitution in the township.
The arrests were made at four massage parlors and at area hotels, according to East Brunswick police, who have been investigating the activity for the past two months.
Detectives set up undercover sting operations that led to the closing of the four massage parlors, whose names and locations were not disclosed. Police said the businesses were found to be in violation of township ordinances.
The detectives also targeted prostitution that was being advertised on a commonly used Internet Web site for classified ads, and learned that area hotels were being used by prostitutes. Police received full cooperation from the hotel management in efforts to stop the alleged illegal activity, and declined to identify the hotels in question.
