James A. Love Sr., 90 of Princeton
Passed way Friday morning at home after a long bout with
Parkinson’s Disease.
Mr.  Love was born in Millville, NJ  on May 1, 1918 and grew up in a family of entertainers. One of his first jobs as a young boy was to deliver reels of film by bicycle between movie houses that his father managed. He went on to spend his career in the film industry. He spent five years with Warner Brothers and five years as a film editor with the U.S. Coast Guard before opening his own very successful company in New York City. James Love Productions specialized in television commercials, documentaries and industrial films. In 1967, Mr. Love produced the revival of Rodgers and Hart’s By Jupiter at Theatre Four on Broadway. Even in retirement he continued to be involved in filmmaking and was producing a documentary about the French ocean liner, Normandie at the time of his death.
Mr. Love was very active in the Princeton Community where he and his wife Anne have resided since 1948. He was a long time member of Trinity Church where he served on the Vestry and was involved with Trinity Counseling Services. He was a member of The Nassau Club, Nassau Gun Club, Princeton Investors’ Club, Princeton Old Guard and Springdale Golf Club where he served as president from 1964 to 1967. He was a founding member of the 200 Club and was a member of The Lambs Club in New York City.
Jim’s family and friends will fondly remember his sense of humor and generous nature. He loved the beach, boating, fishing and golf. Throughout his life, he enjoyed good music and loved to dance. He was a popular partner on the dance floor.  But most of all he enjoyed sharing everything with the love of his life, Anne, his wife of 66 years.
In addition to his wife , Mr. Love is also survived by his son Allyn Love and his wife Maggie of Raleigh, NC, daughters Lisa Love Blazewski and husband Jan, and Cindy Pearce and husband Tom all of Lawrenceville, Cathy Love and husband Bill Mezey of Berwyn, PA., grandchildren Katie Pearce, Taylor and Meghan Blazewski, Alex Mezey and Charlie and Mollie Jones; and a sister Geraldine Barber and husband Ronald of Cape May.
A memorial celebration will be held Tuesday December 9,  at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Church 33 Mercer Street, Princeton. Burial will be private, under the direction of the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad, 237 N. Harrison Street, Princeton, NJ 08540; Family Choice Hospice, 77 Brant Avenue, Clark, NJ 07066 or Trinity Church.
Mr. Love’s family would like to express their gratitude to the special friends and caregivers who offered their companionship and support during his illness.
