   Do you have too many presents to wrap this holiday season? Why not bring your presents down to Manville Fire Co. No. 1, 20 South Third Ave., on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-10 p.m. through Dec. 23. For a small fee we will provide all your wrapping needs. Call 707-9877 for more information.
   Christmas tree fire alarm ornament available in red, silver and gold is being sold for $5 each by the Manville Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 Auxiliary. To obtain the item or for more information, call 526-2325. The alarm ornament hangs on your tree, runs on a single 9-volt battery (not included) and emits a highly audible alarm when smoke or fire is present. All proceeds benefit the Fire Company.
   Calling all grandparents: A grandparents’ support group is now forming for any interested grandparent. It will encompass areas such as lack of contact, estrangement, general grand parenting issues and other topics of interest to the group. If you are a grandparent and are interested in sharing concerns with others, call Counseling and Therapy Services weekdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at 218-9062.

   Camplain Road Volunteer Fire Company will be delivering toys for the company’s annual Holiday Gift Delivery.
   The fire company, an all-volunteer organization, raises funding for necessary supplies and materials through various events such as this.
   For a minimum $10 donation per family, Santa Claus will arrive via his sleigh and fire truck to deliver a holiday gift (which you provide). The fire truck will arrive with its lights and sirens activated, and when the truck stops, children can come to the sleigh to receive their gift from Santa.
   Bring donations and pre-wrapped gifts (one per child, please) to the Camplain Road Volunteer Firehouse, at South 13th and Washington avenues, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Families can choose delivery times from the scheduled dates: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 19; noon to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 20; or 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 21. Delivery time will be set on a first-come, first-serve basis.
   Each pre-wrapped gift must be labeled with your child’s full name and street address.

   The Manville Senior Center, at 20 South Third Ave., will host “Art of the Masters” at 10:30 a.m., a presentation on the life and works of Roy Lichtenstein, presented by Creative Notions of Rockaway. After the presentation, the group will experiment with block painting. By the end of the program, participants will have produced one large print in primary colors. This program has been funded, in part, by a grant from the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission and Friends of the Somerset County Culture & Heritage, Inc.

   Emmanuel Baptist Church annual community Christmas carol sing will begin at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 34 South Third Ave. in Manville. Enjoy singing contemporary Christmas favorites and traditional carols. The program is free and refreshments will be served.

   Manville Public Schools have half-day classes.
Wednesday, Dec. 24
   Manville Public Schools are closed for the Christmas recess. Classes resume Jan. 5.
Thursday, Dec. 25
   Merry Christmas.
   The Manville News office will be closed for Christmas. The office reopens at 9 a.m. Friday.
Looking ahead
   Duke Farms will host a leisurely walk through the woods to explore the wonders of nature with a naturalist for families with children ages 3 to 8 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 31. The cost is $8 per person, $5 for member of NJAS, with a maximum charge of $20 per family. Advance registration is required online at www.dukefarms.org or by calling 908-722-3700.
Class reunions
   Reunion plans for Manville High School 1959 classmates. Plans are underway to celebrate a 50th class reunion in 2009. Organizers are in the process of trying to locate and contact all class members.
