JACOBSTOWN – Emil S. Mihalko, 78, of Jacobstown died Dec. 15.
Born in Certiz, Czechoslovakia, he was a resident of Jacobstown since 1993 and formerly of Lansdale, Pa. He emigrated to the United States with his family at age 8. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and also served in the National Guard.
He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in electrical engineering and was employed by Honeywell in Philadelphia and also had his own motor engineering consulting business, ESMF Corp. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in New Egypt and member of the Knights of Columbus Assumption Council 10900.
He was the father of the late Stephen Mihalko. He is survived by his wife, Maureen (nee O’Connor) Mihalko; two daughters, Cindy Dornish of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Allison Lengyen and husband, Robert, of Jacobstown; a brother, George Mihalko and wife, Grace, of McAfee, and five grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon and Colin Dornish and Genevieve and Melissa Lengyen.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at the Church of the Assumption, 76 Evergreen Rd., New Egypt, with Father Joseph Farrell officiating. Interment will be private.
