Negotiation or mediation?

Stanley J. Vitello, Hopewell Borough
In this season of good will toward men we have the Jengo-Dallessio dispute between two of Hopewell Borough’s finest.
Ms. Jengo has played her tune before the Hopewell Borough Council before. (I know having served on council). Jengo Bells has those familiar lyrics: allegations against someone’s wrongdoing against her and her Burton Avenue property; tort claims; and the chorus of experts who sing her tune.
Why can’t these two upright public servants spare us the unpleasant headlines in the Hopewell Valley News and settle their dispute either by negotiation or mediation? After all ‘tis the season for peace on earth.
Recall the words of Robert Frost in his poem, “Mending Wall.” — “Before I built a wall I’d ask to know, What I was walling in or walling out, And to whom I was like to give offense.”
