PLAINSBORO: Suspected drug dealer arrested

PLAINSBORO — A suspected drug dealer was chased down and restrained by four police officers early Saturday morning after he attempted to flee while being placed under arrest, police said.
Around 4:30 a.m., police observed a 1999 Silver Ford Taurus on the Route 1 exit ramp headed toward Village Boulevard off College Road West. The car was going 5 to 10 mph before striking a curb and parking with the left side of the car on the grass and the right side of the car on the road.
Police approached the driver of the car, Camille Fisher, 29, of South River, and the passenger, Ahmad Reddice, 29, of Roselle. Ms. Fisher got out of the car and appeared to be intoxicated, police said, and was incoherent when spoken to. She was arrested and charged with DWI.
Ms. Fisher was then transported to Princeton Medical Center for treatment. She also received summonses for refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and a criminal complaint summons for under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. She was released pending a court date.
After a strong smell of burnt marijuana was detected on Mr. Reddice, a search revealed a suspected marijuana cigarette in his back pocket, police said.
While being placed under arrest, Mr. Reddice attempted to flee with one handcuff on his wrist. Police tackled him before he could get to a wooded area nearby. He was extremely combative and resistant, police said, and four officers worked to subdue him. When he stopped resisting, he was handcuffed and placed under arrest.
Mr. Reddice was taken to police headquarters and charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, escape, possession of Ecstacy, possession of Ecstacy with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Reddice was transported to RWJ Hospital after he complained of chest pain.
From there, he was transferred to MCACC in default of $100,000 bail pending a first court appearance.
The four police officers suffered minor scrapes and bruises in the incident.
