LETTER: School thankful for inspection

Thank you, Patrick Renaldi.
As the Borough of Manville’s newly-commissioned fire marshal, I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of Christ the King School, to use this forum to thank you publicly for working with us in making our school a safer environment for our students, faculty and visitors.
Since the current administration at the school is new this year as well, this was our first experience undergoing a fire safety inspection. While our initial reaction may have been a bit apprehensive, we eventually came to realize that the list of violations were mostly minor corrections, improvements and repairs.
A few new lights here, some junction box covers there, and some minor renovations are a small price to pay to keep our children safe.
We thank you for your professionalism and cooperation in accomplishing a job well done. Fire Safety and those that enforce its codes are often taken for granted and sometimes perceived as bothersome, when in fact they are exactly the ones we look to when the alarm sounds and it’s time to answer the call.
Thank you again for doing what sometimes must feel like a thankless job.
