A Haynes Court resident reported that someone broke into her home and stole two laptops sometime between 2:40 p.m. Dec. 25 and 1 p.m. Dec. 27.
Police said someone got in through the second floor balcony window and removed two laptops, a briefcase and a flashlight from the home. In total, the items were valued at $2,995.
Jeffrey Welichko, 21, of Bridgewater, was charged with possession of fireworks, failure to keep right and driving an uninsured vehicle after police pulled him over for crossing the center line when making a turn onto Route 206 at 12:45 a.m. Jan. 3.
Mr. Welichko was taken into custody after police allegedly found a plastic bag with 67 individual fireworks in the glove box of the vehicle.
Mr. Welichko was processed and released with a court date of 3 p.m. Jan. 13.
Maureen Rouse, 51, of Devonshire Court, was charged with theft after an employee of K-Mart, on Route 206, reported she had been seen taking a $540 wedding band and $20 from her cash register on Nov. 16 and Dec. 24, respectively.
Ms. Rouse, an employee at K-Mart, was allegedly seen on surveillance tapes taking the items, and the incident was reported to police on Jan. 2.
Sean Brewer, 26, of Flemington, was charged with hindering apprehension, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and driving with a suspended driver’s license after police pulled him over for crossing the center line on Amwell Road at 9:52 p.m. Dec. 29.
Police said Mr. Brewer provided a false name and date of birth when he was stopped. He was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests.
Police said they then found three hypodermic needles, along with wax folds with suspected heroin and a vial with an unknown liquid, which was being tested.
At police headquarters, police said, Mr. Brewer was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.19 percent. New Jersey law defines a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher as intoxicated.
Police said they also found that Mr. Brewer had an outstanding warrant out of Franklin for $478, and one out of Newark for $125.
Mr. Brewer was transported to Somerset County Jail when he was unable to post bail.
Gary Dibiasio, 20, of Philadelphia, and Tony Tran, 24, of Philadelphia, were charged with soliciting without a permit after a worker at Quick Chek, on Route 206, reported seeing two men selling theater equipment out of a van in the parking lot at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 12.
Mr. Dibiasio and Mr. Tran were processed and released.
Daniel Metrovsky, 29, of Warren, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana after the vehicle in which he was a passenger was pulled over for driving down the center of two lanes on Route 206 at 11:07 p.m. Dec. 11.
Mr. Metrovsky was taken into custody after he admitted to having a bag of marijuana on his person, police said.
Mr. Metrovsky was processed and released on his own recognizance.
McAndrew Okwei, 29, of Somerset, who was driving the vehicle, was issued a summons for failure to maintain lane. He was released at the scene.
Several more burglaries to vehicles in the center of town were reported to police in December.
A Columbia Commons resident reported that someone rifled through the glove box and center console of her vehicle while it was parked in front of her home between midnight and 9 a.m. Dec. 8, but no items were missing.
A Revere Court resident reported that her vehicle was entered sometime between 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 16. She said nothing was stolen, but the center console, storage box and her purse were rifled through.
A Hollow Oak Court resident reported someone removed a $200 guitar and $100 guitar case from his vehicle sometime between 5 p.m. Dec. 15 and 8 a.m. Dec. 16. The resident also reported that items from his glove box and center console were thrown around the vehicle.
A Chetwood Court resident reported that someone stole her $280 GPS system and a $15 car adapter for her iPod from her vehicle sometime between 6:45 p.m. Dec. 15 and 9:15 a.m. Dec. 16.
Two Cain Drive residents reported that their vehicles were entered sometime between 7 p.m. Dec. 19 and 11 a.m. Dec. 20. One resident reported that two vehicles were robbed, with a $350 GPS system, three $70 blue tooth pieces and $80 in cash removed.
An Onka Drive resident reported that someone stole his $170 iPod from his vehicle sometime between 8:30 p.m. Dec. 21 and 9 a.m. Dec. 22.
The second resident reported that someone removed a $50 satellite radio from his vehicle.
A Franklin Drive resident reported that someone entered two of his vehicles sometime between 11 p.m. Dec. 26 and 5 a.m. Dec. 27, but nothing was disturbed.
