CENTRAL JERSEY: SBHS graduate killed in Rt. 78 accident

A former prom queen was killed Monday, during a morning accident on Route 78 in Union County.
Janet Ilnicki Adamko, a 1980 graduate of South Brunswick High School, was one of two women killed in the accident, according to a report in The Star-Ledger. The other woman was Laura Hibbler, 47, of Northampton, Pa., according to the report.
   The Ledger reported that

The 10:42 a.m. accident, involving a dump truck and tractor trailer, occurred in the express lanes near Exit 49A in Union Township, said New Jersey State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones.
The dump truck driver, Brian Perhacs, 28, of East Brunswick, received minor injuries. The truck is owned by the Fusella Group of East Hanover.
Major traffic delays persist on Route 78, with the eastbound express lanes approaching the accident location still closed, according to the state Department of Transportation. Motorists are being detoured, which has caused a four-mile backup.
Jones said the dump truck being driven by Perhacs was traveling in the westbound express lanes when it crossed into the eastbound express lanes and turned over, spilling a load of dirt and causing a chain reaction.
