Lambertville and New Hope
The Lambertville Police Department has issued the following report:
— Hamza Hajjat, 28, of Brooklyn, N.Y. was charged with DUI, reckless driving and two counts of failure to keep right on Jan. 6. Sgt. Robert Brown stopped Mr. Hajjat on Route 29 at 12:40 a.m. after he was observed driving erratically. Mr. Hajjat was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.
— Kahlid Altawarth, 35, of New Hope, Pa., was charged with hindering as a result of a motor vehicle stop Jan. 6. Officer Michael Miloszar stopped Mr. Altawarth on Route 29 at 12:40 a.m. after he was observed driving erratically. Mr. Altawarth allegedly presented a friend’s driver’s license and claimed it was his. After the officer pointed out to Mr. Altawarth that the photo on the license was obviously not of him, he reportedly confessed to the attempted deception. Mr. Altawarth was released with a pending court date.
— Rashaun Walker, 22, of Trenton, was charged with driving with a suspended license and taken into custody on an active warrant after a motor vehicle stop Jan. 5. Officer Anthony Memolo stopped Mr. Walker on Route 179, at 3:30 p.m. because his 1991 Buick had no front plate and a broken rear window. A check revealed Mr. Walker’s license was suspended and that he had an active warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on traffic charges in Trenton. Mr. Walker was released on $120 bail.
— Patricia Konah, 22, of Bristol, Pa., was charged with driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle with suspended registration and taken into custody on an outstanding warrant on Jan. 9 as a result of a motor vehicle stop. Officer Michael Gramlich stopped Ms. Konah on Route 29, at 9:50 a.m. after a random check of her 2007 Ford registration revealed it was suspended for insurance cancellation. It also was found that Ms. Konah had a suspended driver’s license and an active warrant for her arrest. The warrant was issued by Ewing Township for failure to appear on traffic charges. Ms. Konah was released on $230 bail.
— Carlos Fuentes, 31, of North Plainfield, was taken into custody on an active warrant on Jan. 10. Officer Anthony Memolo was checking on an illegally parked 1999 Ford van on Bridge Street at around 1 p.m. when the check revealed the owner had a warrant for his arrest. When Mr. Fuentes returned to his vehicle, he was taken into custody. The warrant was issued by North Plainfield for failure to appear on traffic charges. Mr. Fuentes was released on $200 bail.
Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
THE NEW HOPE Police Department has issued the following report:
— On Dec. 6 at 9:01 a.m., police charged James Maxwell, 44, of Bristol, Pa., with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving without a license, careless driving, and endangering the welfare of a child, after the vehicle he was operating was stopped for an inspection violation on South Main Street. At the time of his apprehension, Mr. Maxwell had a 6-year-old child in the vehicle.
— On Jan. 1 at 3:22 a.m., police cited Alan Stevenson, 22, of New Brunswick, for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, after he created a disturbance at a West Bridge Street establishment, police said.
