SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Three charged with prostitution

By Davy James, Staff Writer
The South Brunswick Township Police Department charged three people with prostitution last week.
Jillian Jackson, 20, of Camden, Lindsey Gauldin, 22, of Queens, N.Y., and a female juvenile were arrested and charged with promoting and engaging in prostitution after soliciting an undercover police detective, police said.
Police said the accused women posted ads on the Web site, craiglist.org, soliciting sexual acts and advertising South Brunswick locations.
Jan. 5, Ms. Jackson was arrested at the Extended Stay of America hotel on Route 1 after soliciting an undercover detective. She was arrested without incident and taken to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in lieu of $2,500 bail, police said.
Jan. 8, Ms. Gauldin and the juvenile were arrested at the Doubletree Hotel on Route 1 after soliciting an undercover detective. Both were arrested without incident, charged and released, police said.
Ms. Jackson is not affiliated with Ms. Gauldin and the juvenile, according to police. The management of both hotels cooperated with police investigators.
”This is the type of crime that can affect the quality of life in an otherwise decent and law-abiding community, and it will not be tolerated,” said Chief Raymond Hayducka in a release. “The South Brunswick Police Department will continue to vigorously and proactively investigate any and all criminal activity.”
Police said they will continue to investigate in order to eliminate prostitution in the township.
”The Township Council recently adopted an ordinance regulating massage and somatic therapy businesses,” Chief Hayducka said in the release. “In addition to addressing the public health standards expected of certified licensed professionals, it is designed to deter those who might consider establishing illegal prostitution operations.”
