PRINCETON: Health care system gets new VP

   Linda Sieglen, MD, has been appointed Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs for Princeton HealthCare System, serving a member of the administrative team and as a key liaison between the medical staff, administration and the PHCS Board, according to an announcement by PHCS.
   Dr. Sieglen, whose appointment took effect Dec. 29, will work with the president of the system’s medical staff “to provide leadership in all aspects of medical affairs, with a strong emphasis on clinical care, patient safety, patient satisfaction and efficiency,” the announcement stated.
   ”We are very pleased to have Dr. Sieglen as a member of the Medical Staff and as a member of the senior management team of Princeton HealthCare System,” said Barry S. Rabner, President and CEO, Princeton HealthCare System. “She brings exceptional leadership skills, valuable experience to this position, and a strong commitment to serving the healthcare needs of our region.”
   For the past 12 years, Dr. Sieglen was the chair of the anesthesia at PHCS and president of Princeton Anesthesia Services, PC. She has also served on the board of trustees for nine years and as president of the medical staff at PHCS in 1998, the first female to hold this position. Dr. Sieglen is board certified in anesthesiology and has been practicing medicine for 22 years.
   Dr. Sieglen, a resident of Princeton, graduated from Boston College, completed two years of immunology research at Harvard Medical School and attended UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, completing her internship at UMDNJ-University Hospital in Newark. She did residency at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.
   Earlier this year, Dr. Sieglen was honored as a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey. She is a past recipient of the Princeton YWCA’s Tribute to Women Award for her professional achievements and commitment to the community.
