Thanks, Patty Barrett

Cynthia Magill, president, West Amwell Board of Education
January is School Board Recognition Month in the state of New Jersey and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the excellent school board members I have the joy of working with on the West Amwell Board of Education.
I have had the additional pleasure of working closely with the Lambertville Public School Board sharing administrators, staff and programs.
As we begin the exploration of the possibility of joining the south county schools into one district, I look forward to working together with all of the board members and administrators in a collaborative effort to investigate this possibility.
The hundreds of hours that are put in each year without remuneration by these dedicated board members is a tribute to their passion for children and education. They work hand-in-hand with each other, the administration, the staff and board members from surrounding school districts in an effort to provide the best and most efficient education possible to the children of our communities.
On our West Amwell Board we recently were disappointed to loose a very valuable board member. Patty Barrett’s tireless efforts on many fronts, but most particularly board policy, have earned her our respect and gratitude.
She has done an amazing job of guiding our district through necessary policy updates on a monthly basis, keeping our policies current with changes in the law
. Patty, we thank you for this and all of your community relations work attending events both in the school and in the community, as well as your work on the newsletter. We thank you, too, for your quiet, gentle and open-minded approach to dealing with all issues as they came up. We wish you well.
I feel very fortunate to be working for the children of our community with so many dedicated volunteers and professionals.
