Vito J. Trapani
EAST WINDSOR Vito J. Trapani, 80, died Monday.
Born in New York City, he was a longtime East Windsor resident.
Mr. Trapani was a prominent businessman and entrepreneur in East Windsor. In 1966, he built the East Windsor Car Wash (formerly York Car Wash) on Route 130, which housed the first fire engine of East Windsor. He also owned ABC Floor Covering on Route 130 for many years, as well as many rental properties.
Predeceased by his parents, Angelo, Sr. and Maria Trapani and brother Cosmo Trapani, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie L. Trapani; daughters and sons-law Maria Patton, Martha Trapani, Leonarda and Frank Martin, Angela and Michael Reen, Sandra and Ulises Negrete; grandchildren Christina Van Hise, Jason Vito Nugent, Michaelina Kraemer, Cara Herrick, Andrea Patton, Faustina Negrete, Michael Negrete; great-grandchildren Taylor Appleget, Daniel Van Hise Jr. Tyler Kraemer and Logan Kraemer; brother Angelo Trapani Jr. and wife Brenda; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends, especially Phil LoBianco, Steve Molinari and Lenny Coleman.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Relatives and friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the A.S. Cole Funeral Home, 22 N. Main Street, Cranbury.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
