The South Brunswick High School Dance Team's Black team placed first in the varsity jazz and pom divisions and the Gold team placed first in the junior varsity jazz and pom divisions at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Battle of the Northeast competition Jan. 18 at the high school. Casey Yeung placed first; Amy LaCorte, fifth; Rachel Finkelstein, fourth; Casey Holstein, third; Megan Arroyo, second; and Stephanie Arouh sixth in their divisions. The Black and Gold teams also took top honors in both varsity and junior varsity jazz and pom divisions at the Garden State Classic Championship Jan. 25 at Raritan High School in Hazlet. Both teams will be competing at the UDA National Competition this weekend in Orlando, Fla.
