Anish Ashketar, 21, of Farm Road, was charged with providing alcohol to an underage man after police saw him give a purchased bottle of alcohol to a friend in front of Spirit World Liquor Store, on Route 206, at 7:42 p.m. Jan. 30.
Steven Brophy, 20, of Route 206, was charged with underage possession of alcohol after he admitted he had given money to Mr. Ashketar to purchase the liquor for him.
Mr. Ashketar and Mr. Brophy were processed and released on their own recognizance. They are scheduled to appear in court at 3 p.m. Feb. 17.
Markiece Hayes, 25, of Easton, Pa., was charged with drunken driving, careless driving and driving while suspended after police responded to calls of a vehicle off the roadway on New Centre Road at 9:18 p.m. Jan. 15.
When police arrived, they found the car in the dirt shoulder of the road with a front passenger tire missing and the rim damaged.
Mr. Hayes was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests.
Because he was highly intoxicated and could not stay awake, Mr. Hayes was transported to Somerset Medical Center where blood was drawn.
A manager for the Exxon gas station, on Route 206, reported someone broke into one of the soda machines and stole about $200 sometime between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. Jan. 25.
The manager said the damage to the actual machine will cost a “few thousand dollars” to repair.
Alfredo Barradas-Hernandez, 29, of Philadelphia, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of cocaine, maintenance of lamps, unlicensed driver and CDS in a motor vehicle after he was pulled over because the passenger side brake light was not working while he drove on Route 206 at 10:25 p.m. Jan. 18.
Mr. Barradas-Hernandez was taken into custody after police found two bags of cocaine in his wallet.
Mr. Barradas-Hernandez was transported to Somerset County Jail. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was advised of the arrest because Mr. Barradas-Hernandez is in the country illegally.
Donald Fasuluku, 33, of Somerset, was charged with hindering, driving while revoked and driving an unregistered vehicle after police pulled him over on Amwell Road for having an expired registration at 9:45 a.m. Jan. 17.
When police questioned him, Mr. Fasuluku provided the wrong name, address and birth date. He later admitted the truth and said his license had been revoked.
Police said they also found Mr. Fasuluku had a warrant for his arrest out of Franklin for $869.
Mr. Fasuluku was transported to Somerset County Jail after he couldn’t post a $2,500 full cash bail.
James List, 47, of East Mountain Road, was charged with drunken driving and failure to keep right after he was pulled over for crossing the center line on Amwell Road at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 18.
Mr. List was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.15 percent.
New Jersey law defines a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher as intoxicated.
Mr. List was processed and released to the custody of his brother-in-law.
Bekim Hoxha, 23, of Old Tappan, and Ara Kouyoumdjian, 24, of Totowa, were charged with soliciting without a permit after police received a report two men were selling home theater systems out of a van in the parking lot of the Hillsborough Promenade, on Route 206, at 3:26 p.m. Jan. 18.
Mr. Hoxha and Mr. Kouyoumdjian were processed and released.
Wendy Wielgomas, 33, of Flemington, was charged with drunken driving, speeding and refusal to submit breath samples after police stopped her for driving 56 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone on Route 206 at 12:40 a.m. Jan. 1.
Ms. Wielgomas was taken into custody after she failed several field sobriety tests.
Ms. Wielgomas was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
John Carley, 41, of Crickhollow Court, was charged with hindering and driving with a suspended driver’s license after police pulled him over because they recognized him while driving on Auten Road at 12:33 p.m. Jan. 19 and knew his license had been suspended and active warrants for his arrest had been issued.
Mr. Carley had a warrant out of Manville for $500. Bail for this arrest was set at $750.
Mr. Carley was released after posting the $1,250 bail.
His passenger, Carrie Carley, 35, of Crickhollow Court, was found to have warrants out of Hillsborough totaling $750. She was released after posting bail.
Brian Smith, 36, of Ohio, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana after police found him underneath a blanket in the backseat of his vehicle while it was parked in the Hillsborough Promenade parking lot, on Route 206, at 4:13 p.m. Jan. 5.
Mr. Smith was taken into custody after police found a marijuana cigarette on his dashboard and a box of marijuana and several burnt joints behind the front passenger seat.
Mr. Smith was processed and released.
Richard Haas, 26, of Manor Drive, was charged with drunken driving and obstructed rear view after he was pulled over because snow covered his rear window, blocking his view, while he was driving on Amwell Road at 12:19 a.m. Jan. 11.
Mr. Haas was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.10 percent.
Mr. Haas was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
Kyle Mroz, 27, of Bluebird Drive, was charged with drunken driving and failure to maintain lane after he was pulled over for crossing over the right lane markerthree times on Millstone River Road at 1:56 a.m. Jan. 9.
Mr. Mroz was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.13 percent.
Mr. Mroz was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
A Revere Court resident reported someone entered her vehicle, but did not remove anything while it was parked at her home between 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 16.
The resident reported the center console was open, and items were thrown all over the vehicle. In addition, she said her purse was dumped out on the backseat.
Lina Serafin, 26, of Elizabeth, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after the vehicle in which she was a passenger was pulled over for going 30 miles per hour in a 40-mph zone on Route 206 at 9:23 p.m. Jan. 2.
Ms. Serafin was taken into custody after police found a small bag of marijuana and two pipes in her purse.
Ms. Serafin was processed and released.
A worker with UUC Motorworks, of Hillsborough, reported someone stole a trailer used for towing vehicles from where it was parked on Ilene Court between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Dec. 14.
The trailer was valued at a total of $4,000.
A Fisher Drive family was temporarily displaced after they reported a smoke condition that damaged the home’s furnace at 7:39 p.m. Jan. 25.
According to police, the homeowners and their three children were evacuated from the house, and no injuries were reported in the incident.
The residents were displaced from the home until the furnace, which was where the smoke was found, can be repaired or replaced, police said.
No damage was reported to the structure itself.
The Hillsborough Township Police Department and Hillsborough Fire Safety Bureau are investigating the incident.
