MONTGOMERY: Fire Districts schedule elections Feb. 21

The Montgomery Township Board of Fire Commissioners District 1 and 2 will hold its annual commissioners elections and budget vote 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21.
   Elections for District 1, Belle Mead, will be held at the firehouse just east of the corner of Belle Mead-Griggstown Road and Route 206.
   According to the District’s proposed budget in January, $700,250 will be raised by taxation. The proposed fire district tax rate per $100 of assessed valuation would be .036 for 2009, based on the latest assessor’s information. For the average assessed value home of $509,500 for 2009, this would equate to a payment of $183.42.
   Its candidates are Eve Fedun, Richard Kocsis, and William Hyncik, a current member.
   Elections for District 2, Blawenburg, will be held at their firehouse at 529 Route 518.
   According to the proposed budget in January for District 2, $815,765 will be raised by taxation. The proposed fire district tax rate per $100 of assessed valuation is .044 for 2009, based on the latest available assessor’s information. For the average assessed value home, this would equate to a payment of $224.18.
   Two incumbent commissioners running: Adrian Johnston and Charles Kabis.
