Your article titled “WW council seeks redevelopment plan input” raises a high level of concern that every resident should be aware of. When our representative in Congress has asked the West Windsor Township for a list of “shovel-ready” projects by Feb. 23, to delay approval of the redevelopment plan in order to hold a meeting to get further public input on bicycle paths seems to be the height of fiscal irresponsibility. There has been, and there will be plenty of time to tweak the plan to improve bicyle access. If the council does not like the plan they should simply can it and the township will bear the serious consequences. If the council is in favor of the redevelopment, then approve it and submit it to the state now. The plan is not a design but a concept that will be detailed by the developer later. That will be the time to include adequate bicycle paths and other details.
As council president, Charlie Morgan appears so interested in stalling a plan that could get us significant federal funding. Perhaps, in his platform to be elected mayor, he should base his program for the future of the township on sending it into a financial tailspin.
