The Old City Hall Restoration Project is a group recently formed to fundraise and help pay for restorations to Bordentown City’s Old City Hall. This late 19th-century building is unique and historically significant. It is a classic example of a municipal complex that housed the entire town’s governing bodies in one building. City clerk, police and jail cells, court, and fire house were all contained in this one building. The group would like to see it restored to its former beauty and glory. We hope to see it transition into the 21st century as a community space with multiple use rooms and possibly a museum.
All are welcome to help in this endeavor to restore the Old City Hall. Our next meeting will be at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 5 on the second floor of the current City Hall on Farnsworth Avenue. For more information, e-mail [email protected].
