BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — Police have charged a 19-year-old man in connection with seven car burglaries last week.
Andrew Brower, of Hamilton, was charged Feb. 4 with seven counts of burglary and theft, and also with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said they found Mr. Brower after investigating a rash of burglaries the previous night. Police said he entered seven unlocked vehicles parked on Amboy Road and in the driveways of Route 130 residences and stole cash and loose change, credit cards, cell phones, and a digital camera with a total value of about $1,200.
Police canvassed the area and found Mr. Brower in a motel, with “a large amount” of the stolen property as well as several marijuana pipes and a marijuana grinder in his room, police said. He was interviewed and then charged at 9:45 a.m., according to a police report.
Mr. Brower was released on $5,000 bail.
”We encourage all residents to lock their vehicles,” said Detective Sgt. Brian Pesce.
