Bragging rights up for grabs

When it comes to athletic competition, games between Monroe and Spotswood have always been spirited.

However, the boys basketball game tomorrow night at the Ryan Walp gym in Monroe will elevate to another level of intensity as both teams enter the contest among the best in the Greater Middlesex Conference.

Monroe is currently 17-4 and holds down second-place in the GMC White Division. Spotswood, meanwhile, is 15- 3, and is also runner up in the GMC Blue Division. While the game holds little consequence as far as division titles are concerned, the victor earns neighborhood bragging rights and, quite possibly, could move up in the seeding brackets for the GMC Tournament, which begins this weekend.
