The Lakewood High School Pupil Assisted Learning Services (PALS) students will host the 10th annual Senior Citizen Prom, with the theme “Moonlight Serenade,” 5-9 p.m. March 22.
Due to a history of high demand for tickets and limited seating, PALS members will hold a lottery to select attendees.
Those interested in attending the event must have ballots postmarked by Feb. 22. Letters and/or postcards that include name, address and telephone number will also be accepted. Those selected will receive an invitation in the mail. Each invitation is valid for two people.
The annual event gives PALS students an opportunity to show their appreciation for all that the senior citizens have done to make our world a better place. Many senior citizens missed their own proms due to world events and/or economic circumstances, and this will be a first for many.
During the course of the evening, a king and queen will be chosen, a sit-down dinner will be served, and live dance music will be provided by Wilbur Wittemann’s Musicology Orchestra. Photos will also be available, with a free one going to all who want one. The Lakewood High School JROTC will present the colors, and there will be additional surprises for all.
Entries can be mailed to: PALS Office, Lakewood High School, 855 Somerset Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. For more information, call 732-901-5724.
