Dannie Jackson Jr., 35, of South Main Street, was charged Feb. 4 with possession of marijuana.
Police said they observed Mr. Jackson driving a pick-up truck with a headlight out at 8:03 p.m. on Ward Street. Police said that during the stop they detected a strong odor of burning marijuana from inside the vehicle, and also determined the Mr. Jackson had a warrant for his arrest for child support and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, failure to produce a license, driving with a suspended license and having a headlight out.
Esvin Yac, 36, of Trenton, was charged Feb. 8 with driving while intoxicated.
Police said they observed Mr. Yac at 5:06 a.m. sleeping in his idling vehicle in the parking lot of Hedy’s Liquors on Mercer Street.
He also was charged with DWI in a school zone, careless driving and reckless driving.
Police said they responded at 9 a.m. Monday to the 100 block of Hutchinson Avenue to a reported Nigerian lottery scam. A woman said she had received a letter stating she won $125,000 from a Canadian financial company, but had to send a wire transfer for the taxes on the winnings before the lump sum could be sent.
Anyone who has received a similar letter is asked to contact the Hightstown police at 448-1234.
A clerk at the Riggins food market reported that a bread delivery was stolen at 6:10 a.m. Monday. The clerk said the delivery had also been stolen on three prior occasions as well.
The owner of a Jeep Liberty reported his vehicle had been damaged with a key while parked outside the Hightstown Housing Authority between 8 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The owner estimated the damage at $1,500.
