Former three-sport star and current Montgomery High softball coach Johnny Rooney and former three-sport standout Nancy Cianfrocca have advanced to the second round of the Montgomery High’s Greatest Athlete contest.
Rooney received 80 percent of the vote to defeat Lisa Robbins, while Cianfrocca recieved 68 percent of the vote in her win over Kevin Watson.
Two more matchups are now being contested on NJGameOn, the Packet sports blog. In one matchup, former three-sport standout Doug Drake faces another former three-sport star in Brett Slepokura. In the other matchup, former hockey and lacrosse standout Sean Hover will face football and track standout Chris Kondorossy.
