PRINCETON, NJ: Princeton Area Church Women United will hold its annual World Day of Prayer Service on Friday, March 6 at Christ Congregation Church, 50 Walnut Lane, Princeton (across from Princeton High School). www.wdpusa.org or call 609-924-7530.
This year’s program, "In Christ, There Are Many Members, Yet One Body", was written by the women of Papua New Guinea. They welcome us to their country, a land of many languages, cultures, traditions and beliefs. And they invite us to join them in celebrating their unity in Christ, where diverse communities are of one heart and soul, and where women have faced the violence in their societies with courage and solidarity.
All are invited to join the women of Papua New Guinea in prayer and song to support women’s ecumenical ministries toward justice, peace, healing and wholeness. Arrival time starts at 11:45 a.m. The service will begin at 12:00 noon. Those attending are encouraged to bring a bag lunch and stay for a time of discussion following the service. Beverages and dessert will be provided.
Women, men and children in more than 170 countries and regions will celebrate World Day of Prayer—a common day of prayer usually on the first Friday of March each year. Throughout the day collective prayers are said around the world, beginning with the first sunrise and ending at the last sunset, following the sun’s path around the world.
