Reserve by Feb. 25 for Outstanding Women Awards Dinner

            FRANKLIN – Tickets are on sale for the 17th annual Outstanding Women in Somerset County awards dinner sponsored by the county Commission on the Status of Women.
This year’s program will be held Friday, March 6, at The Imperia at 1714 Easton Ave., Somerset. A cash bar at 6 p.m. will be followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person. Advance reservations are required by Feb. 25www.co.somerset.nj.us to print the form.
“On a daily basis, thousands of women who live and work in Somerset County enhance our quality of life by contributing to our communities in so many different and critically important ways,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Jack M. Ciattarelli, commission liaison.  "It is our pleasure each year, on behalf of the many thousands, to honor a select few for their extraordinary contributions.”
The Commission on the Status of Women presents these awards annually in celebration of Women’s History Month in March. Honorees are women who reside or work in Somerset County.
The Shirley Noble Volunteerism Award will be presented to Doris Zampella of the E.A. Boniakowski Agency Inc. in Green Brook. The Distinguished Honoree this year is Raritan Mayor Jo-Ann Liptak. Other recipients by category are:
Business – Ann Minzner Conley of Franklin; Education – Helen Haines of Hillsborough, Karyn Malinowski, Ph.D., of Manville, Carole Payne, RN, of Boonton and Elizabeth Stitley of Somerville; Entrepreneur – Lisa Kent of Hillsborough and Katy Rupert of Bedminster; Health Services – Barbara Tofani of Hillsborough; Hometown Hero – Edith Lit of Manville; Journalism – Alice Steinbacher of Bernardsville; Management – Nandita Kamdar of Branchburg; Public Service – Pamela Ely of Bridgewater; Social Services – Barbara Schlichting of Stockton; Volunteerism – Nicolette Ash of Bridgewater and Tina Rear of Hillsborough.
