Featuring a large cast of colorful and flamboyant performers from America’s top historically black colleges and universities, the production presents the rousing and rhythmic sounds of the great brass past including Earth, Wind, and Fire and Tower of Powerside by side with the hottest contemporary hip hop and R&B.
Explosive choreography, unbelievable athleticism, and exhilarating trumpets, DrumLine presents traditional black marching band sounds that resonate on the theatrical stage. With incredibly talented and passionate African American percussionists and “steppers,” the rhythmic face-off between America’s top historically black colleges and universities exemplifies true fervor with unforgettable excitement. These talented groups of percussionists who form the drumline have honed their precision and energy with years of training in marching band programs across the South.
