ROBBINSVILLE: Mr. RHS pageant set for next week

ROBBINSVILLE — In some circles, they are called the calendar boys of Robbinsville.
Twelve senior boys and their escorts at Robbinsville High School are busy putting the final touches on the “Mr. RHS” show.
The second annual fundraising event is described as a hybrid combination of “American Idol” meets a male beauty pageant.
It will take place at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the High School, and will rely on audience participation to choose a winner.
Each of the 12 young men will represent their birthday month, thus giving them titles like “Mr. April” and “Mr. October.”
The show raises funds for the graduating class.
The contestants submitted a request to participate to a panel of organizers, and they will be appearing in skits that showcase their dancing and singing abilities.
The boys also will be grilled during a question-and-answer session so the crowd can gain a bit of insight as to which candidate they think should be crowned Mr. RHS.
The show also will include a “formal wear strut,” in which contestants will showcase their tuxedos while being escorted by two senior girls, one on each arm. It will culminate with a choreographed dance performed by the 12 contestants, followed by the crowning of Mr. RHS.
Competing in the pageant are Andrew Harvilla (Mr. January), Joey Bruno (Mr. February), Brian Alston (Mr. March), Andrew Matyas (Mr. April), Zach Barby (Mr. May), Jeff Gerdes (Mr. June), Kevin Bruns (Mr. July), Alex Redler (Mr. August), Brandon Fleming (Mr. September), Mark Setaro (Mr. October), Stephen Lincoln (Mr. November), David Munn (Mr. December).
Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens, and can be purchased at the door.
