WEST AMWELL: POLICE BLOTTER

The West Amwell Township police reported:
   — Christian Mayen, 26, of Vineland, has been charged with hindering apprehension, driving while suspended and having unclear license plates. On Feb. 3 at approximately 12:15 p.m., Patrolman Edward Skillman stopped Mr. Mayen on Route 29 near Valley Road for having a shattered rear window and unclear license plates on his vehicle. It was noted by the officer that Mr. Mayen’s driver’s license did not match other forms of identification in his wallet. A computer check revealed he provided the false documentation due to having a suspended driver’s license. After processing, he was released on his own recognizance.
   — On Feb. 5 at 1:55 a.m., police investigated a vehicle-deer accident on Route 179 near Mill Road. Ronald Tillet Jr., 51, of Lambertville, was returning from the Hunterdon Medical Center in a Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad ambulance, when a deer ran out of a wooded area and into the right front-side fender. No injuries were reported. The ambulance was driven from the scene after a report was completed. Patrolman Timothy Vanselous investigated.
   — On Feb. 6 at 11:46 p.m., Patrolman Anthony Goccia Jr., while on patrol of Gulick Road, saw a vehicle that had pulled into a field owned by the Gulick Farm. The driver, a 17-year-old Pennington boy, was taken into custody for trespassing, specifically an intrusive act on agricultural fields. He was released into the custody of his parents and will be admitted into a juvenile first offenders program. Two other boys from Pennington were in the vehicle, but not involved. They were released to their parents.
   — Timothy Heiden, 43, of Hackettstown, has been changed with careless driving and driving while intoxicated. On Feb. 8 at approximately 10:03 p.m., police went to a one-vehicle crash on Route 179 near Kari Drive where police said Mr. Heiden drove off the roadway, into a drainage ditch. Mr. Heiden was treated at the scene for a minor hand injury by the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad. He refused transportation to a medical facility. Mr. Heiden was processed and released to a friend. Patrolman Goccia investigated.
